CHIRIMEN ZAIKU craft - accessories
ちりめん細工 "Chirimen Zaiku" are a small object which is made with Chirimen fabric.
Most of those are small animals, dolls or plants. Nowadays there are produced in various forms of new designed
accessories or ornaments.
"Chirimen Zaiku" means "fine artwork of Chirimen". "Chirimen" is traditional Japanese cloth with a slightly creped
structure for Kimono. Genuine Chirimen is made of silk, but today, Chirimen of Rayon becomes more common.
Japanese used to remake a new doll or ornament by the rest clothes of Kimono.

ちりめん細工 "Chirimen Zaiku" sind kleine aus Stoff genähte Objekte. Meistens sind es kleine Tiere,
Püppchen oder Pflanzen. Heutzutage findet man sie oft in verschiedenen Form von moderenen Variationen,
Accessoires oder Figuren.
"Chirimen Zaiku" heißt soviel wie "feine Arbeit aus Chirimen". Original- "Chirimen" ist ein Kimonostoff aus Seide
mit einer leicht gekreppten Struktur. (Heute gibt es auch Chirimen aus Reyon.) Die kleine Figuren wurden traditionell
aus Resten und Abschnitten dieses Stoffes genäht.
Alle Chirimen-Zaiku Waren sind die "Made-in Kyoto/Japan" Produkte.

"Manekineko" ("Maneki"= invite, beckon, "Neko"= cat). The cat holding their left paw to get many customers into the
