Part of Hokusai's wood block prints Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji series has been newly released as a printed pattern for a 104cm Furoshiki-tapestry!!
One is "South Wind, Clear Sky" (Japanese: 凱風快晴), or best known as "Red Fuji". And the another one is "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (Japanese: 神奈川沖浪裏), or "Under the Wave off Kanagawa", also known as The Great Wave or simply The Wave. These two works are Hokusai's most famous works and one of the most recognizable works of Japanese art in the world.
Simple and dynamic print-arts add a touch of Japanese style to any room as the tapestry. Off course, you can use it a bag, gift wrapping, table cover, etc.

Ukiyoe is one of the traditional arts of Japan. Katsushika Hokusai, Kitagawa Utamaro, Utagawa Hiroshige and Toshusai Sharaku are particularly famous. Their works were having a great influence overseas in the late 1900s.
Hokusai (1760-1849) born in Edo (now Tokyo) is the best known as author of the Japanese woodblock print, landscape series "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji". Hokusai produced his very first print at the age of 19. At the beginning of his carrier, concentrated on prints of actors and beautiful women. The character of Hokusai can be best described as restless: he changed his name more than twenty times and his place of residence more than ninety times. This restlessness is also reflected in the variety of his work. Hokusai finally achieved popular success in the 1830s with his publication of landscape series "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji", which was so popular that he later published 10 additional prints making a total set of 46.
One of the masterpieces of Hokusai works. It is also called “The Red Fuji”. Hokusai captured the moment of the rising sun coloring Mt. Fuji in red in early autumn to depict its imposing
atmosphere. The cotton shantung material makes the Fuji and clouds subtly luster.
