The "kokudei ao-nota ume kyusu" is created in a collaboration between Tôsen (陶仙), a master potter of Tokoname, and Shoukoku (昭刻), a leading ceramic engraver. Plum blossoms are elaborately carved into the part of subdued blue clay covering the black body and lid. Your tea time with this kyusu will surely spread good mood and the best tea aroma.
What is "nota?"
A type of decorative colored clay is layered on the surface of the piece. Carving and coloring are then applied to these areas to create a more gorgeous finish and unique appearance.

„Kokudei ao-nota Ume Kyusu“ ist eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Tokonames Töpfermeister Tôsen (陶仙) und einem führenden Keramikschnitzer Shôkoku (昭刻). Shôkoku schnitzte kunstvoll Pflaumenblüten in den gedämpften blauen Ton, der den schwarzen Körper und Deckel bedeckt. Ihre Teestunde mit dieser Teekanne wird sicher mit gute Laune und bestem Teeduft gefüllt sein.
Was ist "nota"?
Die Oberfläche der Teekanne ist mit einer Art dekorativem farbigem Ton bedeckt. Durch Gravieren und Färben von Dekorationen auf diesem Farbteil werden ein schöneres Finish und eine einzigartige Textur erzeugt.

🔸常滑焼 TOKONAME-YAKI - A tradition of quality
Tokoname (常滑) is located near Chubu International Airport in southern Nagoya, Aichi Prefcture. High quality earthenware has been produced here since the 12th century, and still now, Tokoname is a center of pottery production in Japan.
Tokoname is one of Japan's six most important ancient kiln towns - the others are Bizen (備前), Echizen (越前), Seto (瀬戸), Shigaraki (信楽) and Tanba (丹波) - had the largest output of ceramics of any kiln town in the Edo Period (1600-1868).
In particular, Tokoname used to be the main production site for ceramic water pipes. In modern times, it is known around the world for its ornaments such as tea sets and beckoning cats.
