🔸Tōsen "Nerikomi Biri" 200 ml -

This unglazed Kyusu teapot with its eye-catching marbled pattern is handmade by the famous Studio Tōsen (陶仙) in Tokoname (Aichi Prefecture), which masters the nerikomi kneading technique.

The surface of the clay is textured with a pattern called 'biri' or 'tochiri', made using a razor blade. The cuts made to create this pot's faceted shape reveal even more layers and patterns of marbling.

"Nerikomi" is a traditional decorative technique of Pottery in which coloured clays are mixed together to create a natural marble appearance. This creates exciting, unique effects whose marbling is visible both on the inside and outside of the pieces. The nerikomi-technique is particularly complex and time-consuming.

Each piece is unique and shows the pattern in different results. Please enjoy the random surprises that can never be reproduced. Perfect for anyone who loves ceramics and pottery art. Very special addition to your tea utensils.
